The Escher seemed to do more to refine it's character but it still had a rough undertone to it. In the end I had to drag out the heavy artillery the Shapton 30K and that finally took the roughness away but I had to do more strokes on that hone than I've ever used before. So now I can say the job is done and it's a fine shaver. I don't know how it was when it left the maker and if the roughness came with the razor or if the vendor who honed it had something to do with it or not.

Of course I don't know if my razor was typical of all his stainless models or not but just based on my experience anyone who buys one should expect a not so small job on their hands to get it shave ready unless they like the roughness. I guess I need to modify my review a bit.
Wow turned out to be a handful!
