w&b corp razor
Looking for some more information on a possible purchase:
scale has 'Special' with the w&b logo, shoulder only has 'wade & butcher corp' on it.
Can't find much information online about it, or i'm just looking in the wrong place.
Apparently made between 1850 and 1920, but i cant find ANYTHING about something stamped with JUST 'wade & butcher corp'. Any ideas?

Thanked: 993Hmmmmm,
I'm not an expert, but my first instinct is to be weary. I hope somebody chimes in and proves me wrong.
The scales look like they are from an actual W&B, and do have the logo. But the tang of that razor, and the razor itself is where I get queasy. It's in really good condition, and that stamp is very deep, with no hone wear.
Now, I'm not saying it's not legit, but I've not yet seen a W&B that didn't have a stamped tang with the Logo and/or "Wade and Butcher, Sheffield England".
My gut says avoid, search elsewhere.

That's what I was thinking as well. I'm going to pass and scrounge the flea markets this weekend.

I've never seen such stamp 'Wade & Butcher Corp'. And couldn't find it in the catalogs.
I can guess only, that this razor was made after 1953 by Durham-Duplex Razor Company. They are the owners of W & B trademark.
And the blade looks like not so old.IMO.Alex Ts.

Thanked: 46Hi Guys, I have never seen this stamp on a W@B, and over the years I have seen lots of them. One of the more unusual stamps on a W@B is one I found awile back. It is marked Wade and Butcher , but under this are the words, blank for concaving. Must be a blank they sold to other makers? Any thoughts on this out there? Best Regards and Happy Shaving, wildhog
