Thanked: 46with ceuloid over a period of time (many years) they start to decompose (cell break down) this is a reaction with the campher and other chemicals there made of. When this happens a gas is released through chemical action that is very corrosive to iron and steel. Hope this helps, wildhog

As-promised, here is a Satinwedge and Special wedge for comparison. As thebigspendur noted pearduck can be seen on the Satinwedge . The difference in spine width and heft can be seen as the Special wedge is a good bit lighter. I did not think I would like it as much as the Satinwedge, but it has "grown" on me!

They also made another one just called "The Wedge". I'm not sure what the difference is between the three. I'd have to dig them out to check.

This will be my first wedge! I was assuming it was a wedge, but with no real info it was only a hope!
