Is it me or does "Unusual Rodgers" sound like it should be the name of some minor pioneer era american explorer? or the name of a micrbrewery cask ale?

Congrats . A very nice yet unusual find. That tip certainly is the highlight of this JR blade. I wonder what type of functionality it provides . Enjoy her my friend

I felt it was more than a decoration myself, Robert, and I also believe that you are right, Scipio. As I was cleaning it I thought "hmmmmm" and took these pics. I have never shaved someone else, but I feel it would be downright handy for a barber to trim up close and control the blade. Possibly with the same, shaving hand as well.We all like those thumb notches. I think surely it is a "finger notch"!

You may not believe this, but I never put any thought behind the functionality of the barbers notch. You mean that the notch actually had a function to fill?? DUH!!! I never realized that... The finger portion makes so much sense now..

Man can I be thick sometimes, hehehe..

A barber's notch is ornamental in most cases, and is used as a guide to see where your edge lies as you shave. The only person who can use it is the person shaving another! A barber! It must be very useful in that way. Neat deal about this one is that it posesses a small barber's notch as well as a finger notch on top!

As usual Tom, you come up with most unique and weirdest razors I have ever seen. Nice looking razor though.

Wow, Randy! You are going deep! This baby is still in the rotation. An excellent grind and one of my favorites!
    Thanks,
