Jaques Lecoultre made razors in the the region northwest of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. He made razors until about 1919 when he dedicated his full resources to clock making. Lecoultre razors are made of very good steel and take a terrific edge. I have several of them and the are excellent shavers.

    Regards - Walt

I also have a German made standard straight razor that is stamped Lecoultre. But I don't believe it has any connection with the ones made in Switzerland.

My wife found a Lecoultre frameback in a thrift store and gave it to me for father's day. Now I can't wait to hone her up!

Yes. But unlike most seven day sets, the blades are not identified by days of the week, but are numbered 1 through 7. That is if you are lucky enough to find a complete set. I have six or seven of these razors and the most complete only had five blades. The rest had between one and three.

Are there any Swiss-made razors? It just struck me that I've never seen a Swiss razor, though there are tons of files, wood-carving knives, tool steel thingies, and army knives. What gives? Does anyone out there have a Swiss razor, or know why there are few/none to be seen?
roughkype, have a look on my two posts below (victorinox and moser Signau)
