    Default Swiss razors??

I'm glad this didn't strike me at the cusp of sleep, 'cause it woulda jolted me right off the pillow.

Are there any Swiss-made razors? It just struck me that I've never seen a Swiss razor, though there are tons of files, wood-carving knives, tool steel thingies, and army knives. What gives? Does anyone out there have a Swiss razor, or know why there are few/none to be seen?

Within spitting distance of most razor making greats they probably decided why bother

The only one I know of is the Jaques Lecoultre Swiss Frameback. I own one, but haven't gotten around to cleaning it up and honing it so I can't say anything about what kind of edge they take. I've read they are quite good.

They are the replaceable blade type and sometimes you see a set with all 7 blades. Those sets tend to be more of a collectors item though.

I saw a Swiss straight advertised on e-bay about a month back. Very Solingen looking piece of work.

Are those Swiss? I thought "lecoultre" was French and the style was Swiss?

I saw an ad fro the early 1900's that showed that Victorinox sold straights. Whether or not they actually made them, I don't know, but it seems likely that they would have.

Not sure, but my blade says Switzerland on it. Maybe it is French?

Also the name of a famous Swiss watchmaker. Switzerland is divided into French, Italian and German regions so names follow suit.
