Sorry, I missed your question. I have not used a RG, so I have no idea. I still love this SS though, I get just fantastic shaves from it.

Is the Feather Professional Artist Club SS - Stainless Steel, or has a Brass Base like the RG Model? I was curious as I recently received a non-folding Feather Professional Artist Club SS and the weight and matte finish are like my RG model and not brushed Stainless Steel like my DX model. I, too, received my non-folding Feather Professional Artist Club SS directly from Japan and unfortunately the included informational sheet is entirely in Japaneee - which I am unable to translate.

Since my non-folding Feather Professional Artist Club SS has the heft and matte finish haas me thinking that it is the Brass based razor and not Stainless Steel (as I thought the SS at the end of this model number stood for Stainless Steel). I went on the Feather Japan website for more information, however, all of the information on the various models they offer are also entirely in Japanese. Hopefully, a forum member here is able to read Japanese and translate the info on the Feather Professional Artist Club SS to Engliish. On that off-chance, the website for Feather (on my SS razor model) is Feather.com.co./jp/ (interesting website as the list models of Feather razors I've never heard of).

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help out with more information on the SS model of this razor.

Hi JR, as I mention in the first post, the SS is stainless steel indeed.

I was just curious, since the finish on my Artist Club SS razor is exactly the same as the finish on my Feather AC RG (which is not Stainless Steel). Thanks for clearing that up for me.

The Artist Club SS is a great razor and has quickly become a favorite of mine. Thanks again!

I just got one of these yesterday and just got the second shave under my belt. I have
never used a straight before so this is my first experience with anything of this sort. Only one nick so I am proud of myself. The shave took so long that the lather dried up. Seems pretty good so far but I am much better with the feather DE stainless razor so it played clean-up.

you're doing good, I've read lots of messages from people who seem to have problems with the sharpness of the feather razors. It's normal that you don't get a perfect shave when using a new type of razor, give it some time.
