It seems the SatinWedge had several incarnations - or at least the scales did. There's the handsome version like you have, and one w/ no bolsters or embelishment - the plain jane version. Yours is really handsome.

Congratulations. Great catch. It really is a beautiful razor.

How many wedges or near wedges do you have?

How do you like them in comparison to the hollow grounds?

    Donald,

I have a W&B 5/8 near wedge, this one and a couple BB customs that are what could be considered the same. They're great shavers in their own right but do shave different than the hollow grounds. The don't give much in the way of feedback.

Emm, how did you find that razor. Do believe I was a couple of seconds having one like that.

But it's the "handsome version" that suffers from cell-rot, not the "plain jane version". Is that the price for vanity?
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.
