Sheesh...this is an old thread...was reading it and noticed Earthdawn's post saying he got one from Don and Lynn, which would be the one I have now, which would also be the one Glen just finished honing.

How do you clean the scales up like that from a yellowish color to crystal clear like that....is it possible or are they damaged?

AFAIK, you can't... it's a one-way street, downhill, to degradation. But seriously, it's something that happens through The Matrix of the scales, and not simply an external film.

(wouldn't it be great if there was some quick-fix for yellowed scales, like "drink more water, and they'll clear-up")
