Thanked: 4Does anyone have one of these?
I was just curious if anyone keeps one of these in the shaving lineup for the times when you need a quick shave.
I have been looking at these types of razors for when I am rushing out the door. I know everyone on here can't always have time for a straight shave. What do you do those days?
I know its just a mach 3 razor handle but I thought it would be cool to have a nice one for when I do need to use a mach 3. I am still learning to shave with a straight anyway so I still use it around the chin area.
Btw, I hope I don't get in trouble for starting a thread on mach 3's...just curious to see what yall use.

I use my DE.
But for me it's the lathering that takes time since I only own soaps.Last edited by PMH; 08-17-2011 at 07:18 AM.

What is that funny looking thing? Some sort of feminine utensil? Could it be the infamous nutter knife?!

No way such a horrendous contraption is going anywhere near my face ever again!
I use a DE if I'm in a real hurry.
You can buy a great DE for $15 with a pack of great blades here: Lord Premium Safety Razor Model LP1822L+ FEATHER BONUS | eBay

Thanked: 4Haha pretty much the response I expected. I actually have a couple of my grand fathers old DEs. maybe I should learn to use it? Does a DE take a long time to shave with?

Thanked: 983If you want fast, shave in the shower with a a bit of body soap for lather. As PMH said most of the time is taken up making and, applying, lather when using your picture as an example of your intended plan.
I would get a similar set up just with a DE instead of the M3 headed thing. Sure it looks nice, but for me the idea was to get away from the expense, and it's the cartridge heads that cost the money.
Get a DE, and you will still have a slight learning curve, but in no way will it take as long as the learning curve associated with a cut-throat. You will most definately be able to use it almost as fast as that M3 from the get go, and by the end of the week be well and truly up to speed with it.

When I start shaving with SR I had present all my new mach3 cartridges to my brother and left only one for my underarms.
But when I need a quick shave I made only one pass and after that I have no irritation or nicks and I have one day stubble.

Thanked: 1936If I am in a hurry, I'll just skip the shave...no way I'm getting close to that contraption again...who doesn't have 10-15 min for themselves every 24 hours? If you don't have the time, you should make the time.

Na dude. don't even bother. WAY OVER PRICED! get a DE.. my quick shaver is a 1961 Gillette Super Speed (i paid like $15). Over at british isles they have a cool brush stand for like $16 so you can get a neat set up with a DE and a brush you already have.
