    Default Ambossmann

    Hi Gents!

I am new here and first I would like to say 'hello' to everybody!

Has anybody ever tried an Ambossmann razor from Solingen. I've found some lines about it in the Wiki, but I courious to know personal experiences about it.

Thanks for the answers in advance!

    Wish the best,

    Carpefor

If it's an old Solingen razor, then more than likely it's a good razor. Pics do help. As long as it's not on the Razors to Avoid list, then all you can do is have it honed by an experienced honer and get their input.

    Carpefor,

I have a 9/16 Ambossmann ( Anvil Man ), and it is a lovely shaver.

They were made by Rud. Frauenzimmer IIRC. Please have a peek here : Alle Hersteller: Rud. Frauenzimmer (Solingen)

    Have fun !

    Best regards

    Russ

I have one that looks like this. Mine is a 13/16 round point, hollow ground. The quality is top notch, gives a great shave. I wouldn't part with it.

Mine also gives a good shave, looks perfect, but still can't feel that it would be my favourite. I have a Bismarck 'Registered' and a Wade&Butcher. The Ambossmann's look and condition is the best but I use it only sometimes. Don't know why!?
