Awesome score! I think I may have an extra bookmatched pair of corleon countertops laying around here you can have for a rescale. BTW, I'd LOVE to see a vid of you shaving with that bad boy. Too cool.

I saw one up for sale a few weeks ago, can't remember where, same brand and advertised as a 9/8. Another 8/8 one just recently. So the three GB brands I've come across (including this one) are a full inch or over. That GB guy really had too much steel on his hands.

May I ask how you did that? It was on my watch list and then it was pulled... As a newbie here, I'm trying to "hone" my buying techniques.

    Thanks in advance!!

I cheated. Let's just say the wife isn't going to let me play on ebay for a while.

This is the only time I've done something like that...I just messaged the seller to confirm the stats on the blade and asked him if he wanted to end the auction early. He gave me a price. I accepted it.

Congratulations! Can't wait to hear the shave report when you get that monster chopper honed. I have a GB blade only, but it is 7/8. A mere shrimp.

I have a question about the pics though. Looking at the pics...there is some discoloration near the edge of the blade. Does it look like patina to you guys or has the temper been ruined? It just looks like bluing to me. Just wanted to get some other thoughts.

The seller contacted me to let me know he was getting a lot of angry messages for pulling the auction and got other offers. My offer was still the best one he recieved though.
