That is what happens when you shave your dog before taking pics. That is a nice looking razor.

That is terrific -- as for the warped scale, I'm going to guess that it's on the side with inlay, that's just the way it happens, seen many that way.

So after a bit of poking around i found this razor with the same etching...does this mean i have a chronik, or maybe a much more "high end razor" than i had thought?

No - you don't have a CHRONIK... You have got a WISO... this wordgame means nothing more that the maker's last name begins with WI... (however it may end) and that the company is or better say was founded in SO...LINGEN. I didn't find WISO yet looking up my sources but those makers like WITTE, WINGEN, WIEDEN, WINGEN or WILLMS could be potential makers of the blade. Due to the plastic bag and moderate price it may have been sold in the 1970s to 1990s.
The golden etching FIRST CLASS is not exclusive to WISO, but was furthermore used by many other SOLINGEN makers. Today some few remakes are done by using dead stock blades and scales - so done by Thomas Kronenberg of REVISOR who is trading with remakes of deadstock materials.

    That makes sense...
Finally I found E.Wieden & Co. AG of Ohligs-Solingen (before 1929) as a maker of flatware cutlery (dinner knifes & forks).
They took over the business from Broch & Kessel and used the trademark MER (from the location Merscheid-Solingen).
