Thanked: 46Sheffield straight razor-identificaton pls?
I just won this one on e-bay. It seems that blade has unusual shape (it seems shorter than usual blades) so if anyone can identify it (maker, age....).
Thx.

Thanked: 1587Yes, unfortunately that has been shortened at some point in its life. A comparison of the blade length to the scale length can often be a giveaway. Also rather unfortunately it appears the seller only gave one picture - unless it is a great picture (and even then...) I am wary of single photo ebay sales.
But happily you didn't pay too much for it! It could very well be a useful and useable razor for you, though somewhat shorter than a typical straight. Doesn't mean it cannot be used, though you might need to closely examine the metal at the end for temper issues.
