I checked this. The equivalent to 19.50 in 1902 is $484.76 in today's currency. Still a pretty good price for a seven day set. I figure that the greatly larger number of manufacturers of straight razors would account for the somewhat lower price as compared to a contemporary seven day set.
Someone who buys a lot of razors may use this as a slight justification; the investment in razors would appreciate at a higher rate than inflation.
Of course past historical performance is not an indicator of future . . . blah, blah, blah.
