My 7/8 Hart came from Classic Shaving ready to shave. No need to worry about it being ready to go, you'll just need to figure out what to do with your other razors.

Thanked: 0Classic Shaving and Hart Steel are working together on the venture. I don't know the nitty-gritty details but it suffices to say that is the normal transaction course. There's a neat little article on the Hart Steel website under their "News" tab. It has a link to a nice article by Chris Moss where he says:
"Classic Shaving have announced their new line of straight razors, sold under the Hart Steel name. These are made in conjunction with one of the most respected custom manufacturers of straight razors and knives in the USA, who has trained his co-workers in the arts of razor grinding and honing."
So you don't need to worry that Classic Shaving will damage the honing that Hart performs.

I received my Hart 7/8 Polished Square Point from Classic Shaving and I must say that CS is a pleasure to deal with; very professional and courteous with impeccable customer service.
I would describe the razor itself as a very crudely made razor; no frills, no decorative angles, simple tang stamps, etc. and I wouldn't change it if I could. The polished blade is more appealing to me and I am glad I chose it. I have not shaved with it yet, probably tonight or tomorrow, but I can tell you it is also a monster razor. I have a 7/8 Dorko #14 Square Point and the Hart dwarfs it. The blades are obviously the same size but the Hart is a meatier razor all around. The spine and tang are so wide it is unbelievable which makes it the heaviest razor I own now and the scales are big. I went with the black resin scales but wasn't all that impressed so I called CS and ordered the Cocobolo scales.
The razor came in a big fancy box with a color pamphlet on how to care for the razor, a hex tool for the pin, razor oil, and a deerskin sheath. I could have done without all of it if it meant a lower price but none the less it is all very nice.
My next purchase is going to be an 8/8 Revisor.Last edited by bmf2001; 11-24-2011 at 06:45 PM. Reason: I shaved with it this morning and I like it even more now. The size was not an issue, it handled great!
