What does Tuf-glide do? Why do you use that before using the Ren Wax?
Yes, Jr is the apprentice. We mainly use Tuf-Glide because we have it on hand. Putting it under the wax doesn't take anything away from the appearance and give it a little extra protection under the wax. Here is a link to the Mfg's site for Tuf-Glide.

Think back to your chemistry classes. When Celluloid gasses it gives off acid fumes and there are very few materials that will resist a continuous attack of these fumes. Certain plastics and paraffin based wax maybe some ceramics. Typical surface treatments will offer no protection. One of our chemists will come along with some better advice maybe.
