Just can't sleep
Does any body else get scared and nervous when the send there razors for honing? It's doesn't have anything to do with the honing bit the trip they have to take to the honemeister that scares me. I mean anything could happen while in transit, I sent them priority mail just so the box could give them more protection. I miss them so much already.

I have sent dozens and dozens of razors, either sold or out for honing and never had an issue. All the standard size razors I have mailed go in the small Priority Mail box with the razor packed in soft foam packing pnuts. I always use a delivery confirmation and of course very expensive razors are insured. I tape the closed lid and the side slots on the priority mail boxes.

Bubble wrap and rubber bands (no tape on bubble wrap).
Make sure the razor is well padded but do not be so
AR that the package cannot be opened without a chain saw.
Rubber bands or blue masking tape and bubble wrap
in a solid box is a good thing. Cardboard folded/ rolled in
a triangle is very hard to crush inside a box.
Insurance and tracking are a good ideal.

Yes it's a known fact the postal employees use the packages as football practice and to exercise their feet not to mention the Gorilla who loads the trucks. Also at night while the facility is closed gremlins go through the parcels and remove the razors and shave with them.

I've always had a bit of a worry about sending my razors in the post, but its balanced by the fact i pay the extra for tracked postage that is normally guaranteed next day and requires a signature. it costs a few quid extra but at least it helps me relax knowing that its being taken care of.
as for posting it, i tend to pack it in a hard plastic razor case i got my first razor in, then a wrap of bubblewrap with the largest FRAGILE wording i can get on the package
its all overkill but at least i know that its safe when it leaves here, i know that if i skimp on this step one day i will be unlucky enough to lose one...

@Mick. When Christmas is over I plan on spending the money and picking up some homes and then do my own.
@IZ the only thing that I am worried about is there trip with the post office. They are packed VERY well but I still get nervous when they are traveling.
