Yep, mine was a gift from a good friend. His dad was a barber and he gave me one of his dad's Dubl Ducks. It is a Goldedge with some of the gold plate still intact. Still use it every now and then.

Thanked: 1195Sure do. A 5/8 Dubl Duck Satinedge I bought from the classifieds here at SRP. Still in the rotation. In fact I have never sold a razor, never felt the need to as they all shave well.
On a side note I'm also in possesion of the first straight razor I (attempted to) shave with, but it's not the first one I bought. Its my Great Grandfather's Genco, which I found at my Grandparents' house over 15 years ago. I had no idea about straights; I ran it across an unknown stone a few times, lathered up and tried to shave pretty close to 90 degrees (because that's how they always did it in the movies). I didn't cut myself, but it didn't remove any whiskers either. Gave it back to my Grandma and went back to my Sensor Excel for several years. Flash forward to little more than a year ago when I finally asked Grandma for her father's razor, and since she knew I shave with straight razors she had no problem giving it to a good home. I've sinced honed it proper and it's a great shaver and a wonderful heirloom.

Thanked: 79Yep. Actually been using it lately. Started shaving w. straights 5 years ago when I found and bought a Dovo 5/8 No. 105 En Vogue in a Hamburg barbershop. Nice damascus pattern, black micarta, matching Dovo brush. Not my very best shaver, and harder to hone, because stainless, but still feels good in the hand, and shaves well enough (with proper stropping!). Don't see letting this one go anytime soon...

My first razor was left to me by my dad’s oldest sister. It had been her husband’s fathers. It’s a 5/8 Square point Genco Grant!
I would never ever consider selling it!
I was also given seven razors by my old Boy Scoutmaster. Some were his brother’s and one was his fathers! Two had cracks in the blades and were discarded. I use all of them regularly!
Again, they will never be sold!
A woman who I’ve waited on as a cashier for many years gave me her husband’s grandfather’s razor and shaving mirror!
I’m having it polished and am going to take it to her home and show her!
Again: No Sale!
My Pride and Joy is my Great Grandfather’s W&B that Glen restored!
No, it’s not for sale!!
However, here’s the link to see what Glen did for me!

Yes, I've still got my straight and DE. The straight is a Nesset wedge that I bought off Gugi.
