Nope, I sold mine. Didn't mesh too well with my beard type. I have a very heavy beard and the razor was a 4/8 extra-extra hollow. It was a Krusius Bros.

Yes indeed, I certainly do.
My first straight was a Dovo Bergischer Löwe purchased from SRD.
It shows up regularly in my rotation and it is a wonderful shaverBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Yes and no. I have 3 first straight razors, I know that sounds wrong, so I'll explain. My very first straight razor was the celebrated Zeepk which now has a home in a Tucson landfill. My first real straight razor was a Filarmonica 3/8, still have it but don't use it. And finally, my very first "shave ready" razor is a P.J. Berg "Parforce" I bought almost 3 years ago and it is still in my rotation.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

I think the first 10 razors I owned or more are long since gone. I'm pretty fickle though and end up parting with many I should have kept.

Yes! I got it at a antique store outside Blacksburg, shined it up, put birds-eye-mapel scales on it (that I designed and made myself) and now it sets up on the shelf in a place of honor. I'm doing the DE thing right now, I may get around to using it.

Thanked: 4942My first straight razor was a Cutlery World 5/8 that I bought in 1973. It's sort of like a Dovo Best Quality. It is still going strong.
Have fun.

Sure do and still use it regularly. I bought it off eBay, a John Williams Damascus Sheffield Steel with a broken scale. It had a bit of a frown which took some serious honing to get rid of it but once that was gone it took a good edge and shaves nice & smooth. That's one I won't get rid of. In fact, I like it so well I bought 4 more, it took 3 years to collect them as they are extremely scarce.
I have intially used this razor not only for shaving but as a platform for learning to make scales (its had 3 or 4 sets since I've had it) and learning to hone which included breadknifing and removing the frown.
