Dovo razor identification
Hey all.
I was a straight razor user years back (maybe 15) and have started to engage back into it again and I was looking at buying a new Dovo Bizmark razor. Before pulling out the wallet, I found my old razor and was wondering if anyone could help me identify it?
Is it comparable to the Bizmark or is the Bizmark just a far superior razor?
Any help would be appreciated!

It's a Dovo Pearlex, I've never shaved with a Bismarck, but the Pearlex shaves just fine.

And you can no longer get the Pearlex from SRD, as I found out earlier today. Both sizes are sold out. That's one way to lick SRAD...

Wow!
@Easyace - Thank you so much for identifying the razor for me! I really appreciate it. I did not see any obvious marks on the razor to give away its identity, so I really appreciate it.
@Charles - What I meant by asking about the Bizmark being a superior razor is that I bought the Pearlex years ago and thought that I may have purchased a razor which was of a lower quality. When I called about purchasing a new razor, they spoke highly of the Bizmark being a good, solid razor which should serve me well for a long time. I was not looking for the "best" but a good solid choice.
I now can research the Pearlex and determine whether or not a new razor is even needed. It may have been a good chaoice for me 15 years ago and I got lucky in choosing a good razor. Perhaps a good honing and I may be back in business again. The one thing which I have noticed is that the scales are warped and probably need replacing.
Thanks

Welcome to SRP. The pearlex and the Bismarck are probably comparable as far as the quality of the steel and overall build. Differences, iMO, would only be cosmetic. "Gingerbread" if you will. That said, it is a good idea to have at least one or two additional razors if you are going to be a dedicated straight razor user. When one blade begins to need a touch up, or worse, is damaged, having a back up is a good thing. It is also nice to have more than one to shave with just for the variety factor.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Buy a new razor of your choice and make sure it comes honed by a professional. when you get the new one send the old one out for honing and shave with new. When its al said and done you will have to great razors to rotate. Get it honed by a pro and shave with it !

great advice...
I'll order the Bizmark and send in the Pearlex for professional honing. This way I will have 2 good razors and an excellent starting place with the professional honing. Thanks again!
