Thanked: 6Help me decide between razors.
I am looking for my 7th razor to complete my set. I am deciding between the Dovo Forestal 5/8 and the Dovo All Stainless Satin 5/8. Which one would you recommend and why?

Thanked: 1195Do you currently have a stainless steel blade? If not I'd go for the stainless if for no other reason than variety.

BTW I probably have 6 sets of the Dovo SS scales 2-3 of the TI and quite a few of the Wapi's they are unbalanced and heavy so I end up changing them for people often

I have the Dovo all stainless and it does feel awkward until you get used to it, but if I were you, and I don't have a horse in this race, I'd look at about the 6th ad in the classifieds right now!

Howard

I have a Dovo all stainless. It is a pain in the but to deal with the balance issues, stropping or honing with a light stroke is very difficult if you have to compensate for that imbalance. Also, my Dovo (I've heard of this issue with other modern Dovos) has an uneven spine which is causing me headaches with touching up the edge.
