Thread: Dorko or Henckels?

Well, I don't know if Henckels are making new one's per se. The speil on John Crowley's site says that he/they recently discovered old Friodur blanks in Solingen and had them ground by someone over there. The scales on the one I'm interested in are custom, not factory. But, I'm certainly no expert, just going off what I've read. [Sorry, Just looked at Keith's link - looks like they are making new ones.]

BTW, I ordered the Friodur this morning.

The handle is hard plastic. I believe it's stainless, and yes, it's 5/8.

I started Googling for the razor and saw that cutleryandmore.com has it for $99.95 versus Nordstroms $149.95. I was about to order it when I saw that they also have a 6/8 FRIODUR for $149.95. So I got that one instead.

I'm pretty sure the cool scales are made by Robert Williams aka PapaBull. Nice razor James!

Mine were made by papabull. I've got the 7/8 and 8/8 with oryx scales. Now I just need a 6/8 with same...
