Thanked: 1587Dorko or Henckels?
After reading the other thread re 7/8 Dorko, I made the mistake of taking a look . I spotted the Dorko and I also saw a Henckels 8/8 that I liked the look of as well.
I guess this comes down to a personal, subjective choice. Money (and marital harmony ) is a big enough issue that I can't get both. I want a larger razor than those I already have mainly because (1) I'd like a new razor (as opposed to the vintage ones I have now) and (2) I shave my head, and the smaller razors have trouble getting through the areas that still produce hair... .
Currently, I'm leaning towards the Henckels, but I'm willing to be persuaded otherwise by calmer, wiser, or more experienced heads. Whatever I get will be used, not put on display. What do you guys think? Any opinions will be appreciated.

Well I can't tell you about shaving your head but in general terms both brands are premium razors and you can't go wrong with either. To get better quality you would need to go with a custom razor. I have a few of both brands and if I had to pick one over the other I would pick the Dorko but thats just me. I think its a matter of size and costmetics and price.

Both brands are exceptional shavers. If I had to pick one, and price were a factor, I'd go with the Henckels, assuming they're both the same size. Both are outstanding, and the Dorkos tend to be fancier, but I don't know if it's that much better. Just my $.02.
P.S. If the Henckels is a Friodur (stainless), I'm not sure there's a better shaver available. Even in a full hollow, the Friodurs tend to be a bit stiffer, as well.

Thanks for the advice guys - very much appreciated. I think I'll get it - the Dorko is beautiful but I'd just worry about wearing the gold off etc. in the long run.

I actuall have one of the new Henckel's (This one: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2879998/...bo=6004840&P=1)
I think it's a superb shaver. It was actually the only razor I've ever gotten that was truly shave ready out of the box, with only the most minimal of touch up on a pasted strop.

Thanked: 9Don't have either but I would go with the Friodur w/o any doubt. I just like the look better, and haven't heard one neutral or bad opinion on Friodurs
