Thanked: 0B. Winks & Sons / C.W. Dahlgren Blades!
Second part of great find In Denver! B. Winks and Sons with considerable hone wear and a C.W. Dahlgren with a badly chipped edge but great etch! I don't know anything about either maker so any info on these blades would be appreciated! both came in a great box with an old Denver advertisement. love local history!

Thanks to the honorable Mikael, I've enjoyed a lovely Dahlgren, which makes it almost 100% w/ the Swedish blades being really great shavers. I still struggle to smooth out the beautiful Tornbloms, but Engstrom, Helje, Hellberge, Dahlgren have just been wonderful.

Thanked: 884Can't help but wonder if C.W. Dahlghren was related to John Adolphus Bernard Dahlgren AKA "father of American naval ordnance." Both were approximately the same age and both were born in Sweden. It was a pair of Dalghren's guns that were mounted on the USS MONITOR during its battle with the CSS VIRGINIA for the first real battle of "iron clads".
I'm digging for a clue, but have yet to tie 'em together any way other than by their name.
