Yes I actually own both old and new, the price is not bad on the new one and once I got the new one dilaed in ,its as good or better than my vintage, the only difference I saw between the one your looking at and the one I bought is mine has Olivewood scales. I would give it a try. I like mine just fine

To tell you the truth I don't recall ever seeing more than a rare poster saying the new one was as good or better than the vintage. The posts from owners and the honemeisters have been that the new ones are inferior. The names I've seen are Puma, Boker, henkels,Timor,Revisor. I just don't recall seeing many glowing reviews.

Maybe Lynn or Glen will weigh in on this.

I hear you but wow... that's a good looking razor. Well I like it anyway. Boker's Damascus are about the same price as well.

This is just me....I never got the hype factor on the old ones, just like the ducks. Lots of as-good or better out there! Just saying. It is all in a name. JMHO

I second that and in some cases are more expensive than a vintage Puma

or, you can try one for 100 bucks which is all I paid for mine, dial it in and try it for yourself. My vintage Puma is okay, but not one of my favorites. The new one. Once I got it dialed in. It's pretty much the same shave, at least IMHO
