Thanked: 1The "New" Puma razors
Anyone had any experience with the "new" Puma razors. There area number on ebay (Razor PUMA 936300 | eBay). The price at $118 "buy it now." It is, as you will see, made of stainless steel. The price is attractive, but is the razor. Thanks for any information or views.

I'd say you'd be taking a shot. Made in Solingen so it is probably good, but chances are they don't make 'em like they used to.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

No real relation to the old name at all. They are probably quality razors but you can probably do better with vintage. I say this based on the little I have heard about them.

Just shaved with one I honed for a fellow member toninght, it took a quite nice edge.
I can't speak for how well it will hold an edge, but my first impression is that it seems to be an okay razor.Need help or tutoring? Check out the .

The new ones remind me of the new Timors.. Nothing like the old style..And remember, now days just because it say "Solingen" doesn't mean it was made there... I would wait for the seaze bay or someone here to sell one.. I have one of the old Timors and it rocks. My friend has a new Timor and it sucks.

The only new Puma I honed had a bit of a warp in the spine & poor pinning & fitting. Not a patch on a vintage one.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 1195I certainly mean no disrespect to any of the participants of this thread, but does anyone actually own one? It would be nice to hear an objective opinion of these new Pumas from a current owner rather than the usual "it's new so it must be inferior" line that seems to come up every time a vintage name is ressurected.
