    mine may be the same length, i measured the actual cutting surface not the entire length of the blade, where should I be measuring from?

    I have a few broken blades and thought I might make some whittling knives from them.
    Ricks Hand Made Razor Knives describes his process here.

    It would be really nice if the logo on shank could be displayed thru a cutout on the handle. But I don't know if there would be enough support.

    well as promised I am keeping updated, got lucky and found this on eBay and the owner said that there was no cracks or nicks. If this is true then I should be up and running, after some serious thought I have a few new ideas I am going to try in the process to make this thing the best it can be. oh and don't worry I am going to be extra careful with the buffing wheel or not use it at all just do it by hand.
