Thanked: 1New to Me Dubl Duck Lifetime Grim Reaper
I wasn't planning to post anything about my latest acquisition, but I just cannot help myself!
My everyday razor is a DD Goldedge, which I absolutely adore. Originally, I had bought the Reaper as more of a keep sake (special occasion only type thing)...but after using it...well I might be using it a lot more then I had originally planned for! Now, I was under the impression that there shouldn't be too much of a difference between the two, but is there ever! First of all, it is quite a light blade (5/8ths) versus my Goldedge (6/8) and Satin Wedge (5/8 - both of these are pretty much the same weight), and it's comparatively quiet (my Goldedge is quite the chatty razor, comparatively speaking) - not to mention the shave was outstanding! Anyways, all I'm saying is that in my opinion the hype isn't misplaced - it truly is an excellent blade.
I know we love pictures here:
PS - Many thanks to the SRP member who restored, and let me purchase it off of him!Last edited by eple; 03-21-2012 at 11:40 PM.

Gotta say as the previous owner of that razor and more than a few goldedges if you have your GE honed really well you might find it hard to tell them apart

That is a really nice one. I'm not sure how far back they go but it is rare to find one in that condition if you can find one at all. One thing that I've always been curious about, since the first time I ever saw a 'Lifetime,' is who and why they thought of the Reaper design ? What on odd thing to put on a "cut throat" razor. Different sense of marketing back then apparently.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

It's for the skything motion your supposed to use with the blade
Very nice looking razor, sounds like it shaves as good as it looks too
