Thanked: 4I'm cleaning up the DE right now. I want to get that done so that I can try it out tomorrow. I'll be working on the Wade later on this week. I might have to do a lot of cleaning on it.
I'm expecting my other straight to arrive from the honemeister in the next few days. Maybe then I can get my first straight razor shave. I still need a couple of basic things but I have enough to start.

Nice find friend. The antique stores around my place are way too proud of their straights, the prices are way too high for my beer budget. Anyway, have fun, and take it slow. Good luck on your first shave.

Thanked: 4I went to several different shops. One had a Dorko for about $2 but the blade had a really bad chip, however the scales were nice. I may go back and get it for the scales. The others were asking anywhere from $35 to $75 for some rusted out razors. None of which looked like they were restorable.
Some one told me that there was a post or something on what to look for while out at the antique stores. Does anyone know where that is?

Type 'Antique markets' in the search bar & you should get this amongst others.
http://straightrazorpalace.com/aucti...e-markets.htmlThe white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 1I have been shaving with that DE for the last 20 years, it came form the grandparents. Use a soft blade and enjoy the shave.
GREAT find by the way.
