Thanked: 4249I wanted to find out when Thiers Issard purchase the Hospital & cie company, so i wrote to Gilles REYNEWAETER the current owner of TI, and he kindly responded that Thiers Issard purchase part of Hospital & cie "Le Grelot" in 1996 and then in 2002 purchase the rest of the company and all trademark, and remaining razors.

The Le Grelot strop paste smells like crayons... feel like a kid again every time I use it!

Here is a cased pair I picked up a few years ago. NOS and NIB. I assume that they were made after TI bought them out but I'm not sure. Nice pair whoever made 'em.

Thanked: 4249The first Lotus from Le grelot was registered in 1919, obviously your razors are from after 1931.

Thanked: 2Bumping this old thread. Just wondering if anyone has access to a more thorough Le Grelot database? There is not much info on them/not many models in the SRP database and my internet searches aren't turning up much. Thank you

Hi,
Just wanted to say thanks for this great info! I just got a La Grelot 42 for 30$, just wondering more about it. Hoping it was a good deal, I recognized the name "Thiers" but not the rest of the inscription.
Mine however is less than a 1/4 hollow, more like a wedge! Anyone with ideas about that? Whether it's a sign of lesser make? or age?
