Thanked: 0sanssouci solingen NOS from germany
looking for a gift for my daughter about to begin barber's school. seeing a beautiful "NOS" eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices The seller mentions that the "handle" was stored for thirty years, and the posting is for 2 razors the same. Makes me think I might get something other than pictured.

I picked up a similar Sansoucci 6/8 round nose from the Classifieds for not much more than that. SWMBO claims it's a great shaver.

Thanked: 993I believe the posting says that there are two razors available, and you'll be purchasing one (for that price).
I have three 6/8's. One has a warp in the spine, but Manny immediately sent the second and the third to take the place of the first. The second shaves very nicely, and I quite enjoy it. The third is a stainless steel model, and I'm rescaling it....so it hasn't been honed yet.
For the price....I like them.

Thanked: 194I bought one from that vendor and hated it. Had a pretty bad experience trying to sort things out. Many ppl around here seem to quite like them though. Keep in mind that your daughter will not be allowed to use a fixed blade to shave customers. perhaps a nice shavette would be a better choice??? they make some reallllly nice feather ones. goodluck!

While the use of straight razors by barbers may be banned in a lot of places, they are not banned everywhere.

I purchased a 7/8 Inox and a 6/8 carbon from Manny. Regarding the scales: for the price, the mere fact it came with scales I felt was a bonus. Both blades were a great investment imo and hope one day they can rest in some nice horn or bone. They deserve it.

Thanked: 0yah, it seems in California to be a choice of the shop owner/manager....the law requires disinfectant soak, but no replacement blade system....
