Default Beau Brummel some strang pittin appear - oppinions need

So, recently I bought Beau Brummel #35 straight razor and recived it in almost mint condition. Razor was very nice polished without visible pitting, rust etc....
I used it 5 times until now and every time I rinsed it well...dry well after use and oil (Camelia oil) the blade before storage as I do with all off my other razors. Also, all of them are stored in TI Wooden Box in dry place. There is no razors with celluloid scales inside the box.
But after all I noticed that some kind of pitting spots start to appear 3-4 mm from the cutting edge of Beau Brummel straight razor.....they are less visible when razor is dry (visible under some angels) but greatly visible when blade is wet.
So, I need your oppinions about whole thing especially if you had same experience. I have to add that there is no such problems with my other razors.

    got pics?
could the be hard water spots? i realize you may like pristine blades but most of my older ones have some staining that i attribute to the onset of patina.

From the make of the razor "BB" and the description you are describing, you might very well have a case of Cell Rot assuming that it has the origianl scales on it...

A pic will tell me more though

    Hi Glenn,

I do not think so because I replaced original scales with Paua Shell ones and original wedge is also replaced with bufalo horn one.

more likely the cell rot glen mentioned... i had not suggested it since you said that there was no celluloid in the box. BB are not just sensitive they are vain!

Tis a mystery then, the Cell rot theory was the easy guess Now that you have eliminated that it gets down to where is the moisture coming from

The razor looks freshly restored, if so it would be more prone to rusting & some steels are more prone than others. The latter reason was why I stopped rinsing during the shave.

They all seem equi-distant from the cutting edge. Are you sure there is not anything going on inside the scales that could be attracting and keeping moisture in that general vicinity? How thoroughly are you drying between the scales?
