Thanked: 1How to part with a razor?
Hello gents,
It's been too long since I've showed myself around these parts. And I come with hat in hand to ask for advice of my elders, and any whippersnappers around.
How do you part with a beloved razor? I ask because I am a graduate student, and as much as I love it, the razor I have represents too much sunken capital for me to hold on to it.
But it's so lovely....oh, and I don't know the best way to go about selling a razor, frankly. I see B/S/T and ebay, but any input on what works best?

Thanked: 884I'd run it by the members before I went to ebay with it.

Thanked: 1Okay thanks. And I presume posting in B/S/T is the way to do that? Or would I also make a post somewhere else to let folks know?

Follow the 'classifieds' tab. People here may not be willing to pay Ebay prices, but I'd sooner entrust a much loved razor to an experienced member than some vaguely interested prospector on the bay. just my opinion of course.

You don't have enough posts to qualify to put it in the SRP classifieds. The mods keep an eye on people with requisite time, but not requisite posts, in case they try to inflate their post count with drivel. Not suggesting you would. Just saying ..... so ebay sounds like your best bet.

Thanked: 884I just looked at the time he'd been a member when I made my suggestion.
With but 77 posts in 4 years, maybe he's a man of few words and has probably been busy taking care of his schooling.

Thanked: 1Ahh, well good to know of that limitation. I certainly had a burst of activity when I first joined and will acknowledge schooling hampering that to a degree. But if there's a posting limit in addition to time that I don't meet, then may the posting authorities let me know how long I'd need to keep around for. This is a razor that should really go to an SRP member, as it even has SRP carved into it.

Thanked: 4942I have parted with a few that I really missed after they were gone and were very tough to replace. Make sure you hold the memorial service in advance.
Have fun.
