Spanish Point. Has anyone seen one actually made in Spain?????
I have been searching unsuccessfully for an example of a Spanish made razor with a "Spanish Point" :-

Seems simple enough right?
I have seen them made by German and French manufacturers but not Spanish!!
Any photos or info appreciated.

Thanked: 13249I ain't so sure they are even called Spanish Points that might be a fairly new name, the older references call that type of point a "Dreadnought"
not to worry we haven't found an old reference to a Barber's Notch either they were called "Hollow Points/Notch"

Ok thanks G that makes things clearer for me.
Well at least we know that French points (oblique) were manufactured in France amongst other countries.
Still its strange that the name Spanish point was given to a razor that is rare as hens teeth.
Maybe I can invent an Australian point, which would be really impressive since I donīt think Australian made razors exist o_OLast edited by bonitomio; 05-25-2012 at 07:58 AM.

All I know is that I want one (or more) regardless of what they are called.
Aussie points are actually made from beer cans

How do you know the term Spanish Point refers to Spain? Maybe the first guy who made one lived on Spain Avenue and it was named for that?

05-25-2012, 11:04 PM #10we know that French points
May be Irish point.
From "The Barbers Manual" by A.B. Moler, Edition 1924:
So. It's very difficult to find the origin of all these Points/Notch now.
I've never seen the name "Spanish Point" in old barbers books or catalogs.
