I agree with above posts .
Altho the edge is cleaner now, take it to the hone & see what happens. It may be just fine when you hone past the original edge. No crystal balls here to say it's all good or all bad.
As for the 'bone' scales, I have a funny feeling that one with the split at the wedge is ivory. I'd personally look at repair rather than replacement if it was.

Thanked: 2now that you say it, it does look like ivory..... I'm going to take the risk and de-scale it anyway as it needs to be removed to properly clean it up, the tang is heavily pitted around the pin area.

Just go slowly & don't tap anything hard. You can reinforce the inside of scales with a layer of fibreglass or glue to thin brass.
