    Whether its a DD or a TI or anything else there are poor samples in every group. Overall DDs no matter the model are superior shavers. Maybe some intense honing and reworking of the bevel will cure those sick ducks.

    MParker has the right idea.

    I've run into this many times with old Ebay razors. Look at it at 60x and you'll probably see a lot of microchips and unevenness. Sometimes the steel is so bad that the edge crumbles when you go to a fine hone. You need to remove enough material to get to a clean, even edge and it'll be fine.
