I found 4 old razors. 1. Blue Steel Special 2. Pheasant Special struben sales co. wayland ny solgen germany. 3. Shumate Razor st louis mo. shumate antiseptic barber and 3. King Cutter heinr boker & co solingen. A couple have a cracked handle and one is a little rusty. Are they worth keeping and maybe getting repaired or not. I thought someone might have some thoughts on this. If so please post a reply. Thanks.

Everything is personal with razors. If you search, you'll find info on the Boker and Shumate. I didn't try it, so I don't know about the other two.

I've had a few Blue Steels, they were very nice. #2 if Germany made and vintage is probably pretty nice as well.

Of course without pictures they don't exist!

Blue Steel Specials rock, if you indeed have one as you so boldly claim without so much as one lame camera phone pic.

I have a blue steel and shumate barber. Both good shavers.

These are all well known brands .... all make for good shavers if the
steel is sound (no bad rust) and scales serviceable.

Once in a while they sell for way too much if they are in super condition....

Pick the best have it honed and enjoy... before the first dulls pick a second
and have it honed. The last two will take care of themselves especially
if you want to learn how to hone.

Do lightly oil and if needed give them a light sanding with 1000 or 2000 grit
3M wet dry paper to remove any rust that might harbor bacteria.

    Pictures are a must....

Here's a video of the razors. I have a rotten camera, but it's the best I can do. Tried to take some stills but the quality was even worse than the video.

That first blue steel looks like the nicest one. The shumate and second blue steel look okay from what I can see. The Steuben looks to have very heavy wear

If you want me to hone one up for you just pm me.
