Thread: Another barbers notch story

    I actually read in an old barbers book late 1800's (can't remember what book exactly) that the hollow point "barber notch" meant poor workmanship in the forging process. Which I thought was a funny idea because even back then they were making up theoretical reasons for it. lol

    Thats interesting,maybe the notch was ground into the nose as a billit to hold the blade in place during the hammering process,I:E wedged into a round steel dowel,just a thought

    Perhaps the notch is an old-school Heisenberg Compensator...
