Thread: Where to find just a DE handle (or a substitue)?

I found, in my grandfather's bathroom cupboard, this head of DE (see pics). It's a Gillette. That's all I know.

I'm pretty sure that I remember playing with the handle when I was a kid. That means I'm pretty sure the handle is lost (for me) .

So my questions are:
- where could I get a DE handle? (except eBay of course)
and
- what could I use instead of a DE handle? (I mean, can I just drop by any home hardware store and find something that would be good enough?)

The heads are pretty standard so you probably can pick up a cheap de from amazon and use that. I have a concord razor that I like the head on but wanted a smaller handle so used my Gillette handle with it. I also know there are some guys on etsy.com that make wood handles for de heads. Just type de razors into the search and should find them.
