Poll - Gauging Interest In An SRP Logo Razor
There has been discussion in this thread here on an SRP Logo razor. This is a poll for the owners of the forum to gauge interest in how many members would be willing to plunk down there hard earned $ for such a rare jewel. I don't know what the cost would be if such a razor could be made but I imagine we're talking three or four hundred USD.
This poll is on for thirty (30) days and has been made a 'sticky' until it ends, at which time it will be 'unstuck.' Thought you'd like to know.Last edited by JimmyHAD; 06-25-2012 at 03:26 PM.

Thanked: 1936My thoughts are a 6/8 or 7/8 spike point with a tail like the logo...a custom like the logo exactly would be cost prohibitive more than likely. Someone like Hart could set up the laserjet to do the tail & it wouldn't take as much time. Grinding a smiling edge can take more time...thus more cost on the consumer end. Don't get me wrong, if a razor could be done like the logo for sub-$300 I am in. My $.02 anyway...

I think Hart may be popular for an SRD custom but personally I would prefer TI in a 6/8 shoulderless square point with
our logo on the scales leaving blade alone.

Here are two factory made smilers that would suit me if something similar were made as the SRP logo razor. Saying that to say, it doesn't have to be a custom to be a smiling blade.

I have no real preference on maker, but agree that a smiling blade 7/8 or larger would be perfect.
My wife is going to kill me if this comes together, but I'll make it up to her

I'd definitely be in. I'd also like to see the razor made affordable, similar to, but not the same as the last offering. That way, as many members as possible can enjoy it.

Just keep in mind the more customization you want the less likely an outfit like Dovo or Ti will do it and, the more likely you go with a smaller outfit the price will be higher and the number of razors available will be lower.
In the end these things usually reflect practicality meaning getting the razor into as many hands as possible for the most reasonable price.
I'm sure we could engage a custom maker to do whatever we wanted however very few would be made and I doubt folks would want to spend a grand for a razor (with few exceptions)
So everyone keep this in mind when you tell us what you would want in such razor.

If this was going to be a regular shaver, I'd vote for 6/8 in 1/4 hollow to near wedge, but, since I see this as a razor to add to a collection and "just have" then, I don't care, I just hope it's done well. I do hope the blade has some kind of SRP brand so other blades can't be added to the SRP scales somewhere down the line. Looking forward to seeing what we come up with.
Regards,
Howard

A full custom would be my prefered choice, but as already mentioned that will make a very limited number or razors for a higher cost, so IMO a factory razor will be the best solution.
For my personal prefreces I would like to see a 6/8 or 7/8 with the SRP logo etched or engraved and with scales like the logo razor.
