I have both razors too and I'd take the Dovo over the Hart in a heartbeat. The Dovo is perfectly balanced and is almost an extension of your hand. The Hart is heavy and to me unbalanced and kind of clunky. We won't even begin to talk about the cosmetic aspects of the two. Of course in the end they both shave great though my Bergeisher is one of those really exceptional shavers and outperforms the Hart. Of course if your one of those who like big heavy razors you might prefer the feel of the Hart.

It will be interesting to see what you decide. If you stay with straight razor shaving I will bet you will try both Hart and the Dovo BL. To me they are as about as far apart in their respective features as a Ford F250 4WD
and Chevy volt. They will both get you where you are going.
Personally I like both of the razors. Bruce Gregory with Hart is getting better and better with each blade he makes.Bob

Thanked: 12I had both and would buy a Hart Steel again.
They are rather plain and utilitarian and a heavier grind but out of the box gave the smoothest most effortless shave other than a 1/4 Grind le grelot.
The Dovo BL is Dovo's nicest blade and the scales are nice, but I found the scales weren't centred on my example, the rubber thing on the tang is useless and annoying, and I have gone off gold wash on razors as it tends to fade.
