Just make sure to pay it forward and enable others as much as we've enabled you.

I've been shaving with a straight for approx 3 years now and I currently only have two and I only need to shave twice a week. I just feel like the other razors being left out when left untouched at least once a week and I worry that I may not use them in correct sequence and cause some razors to go for two or three weeks unused.

Even though I only have two now, a Joseph Rodgers and a JA Henckels, I've been through several, buying and selling them. The Joseph Rodgers was one of my first razors and I spent a lot of time with other razors while waiting for a more affordable JA Henckels to pop up.

Call me crazy, but I feel some sense of loyalty to the razors that I use on a weekly basis, its like a trusty car or fountain pen or stethoscope that one uses on a regular basis. Its almost like one's appreciation for it grows with the more one uses it.

    Regards,

No, we would not call you crazy at all. I guess all of us here appreciate the razors we collect or use for shaving, including me, of course.
And I am sure the appreciation we have grows every day stronger for each of them. That's why we take such a good care of our "good old blades". We hone them, use them for shaving (or that would be no fun at all, I mean collecting alone) and, as far as I am concerned, it is such a great feeling to know we contribute to these remarkable pieces of human history and genius to come back to life. That life they were made for.
I am sure you know the pleasure of realizing how great it is to shave with, say, a century old razor, in particular if you compare it to the modern plastic stuff or electric "whisker rapers".

Does you name have any connection with Italy or with the Primitivo grape or wine? Just curious.

I wish I was connected to Primitvo wine. Actually, Primitvo is just a cool first name I encountered a few times at work and thought I'd use it for a username here.

Primitivo is bot a grape and a wine. And it is Italian for "primitive". The grape makes a good wine and it is genetically equivalent to Zinfandel, so popular in the US.

    Cheers!
