Looking at the auction I think that blade has been shortened ? I've seen that anchor stamp on more than one brand. I vaguely recall a thread explaining what the significance of the anchor was, but too long ago to remember the details. Whoever replaced the one scale with wood did a bang up job. I've had a blade that wide and may still ..... can't recall. Kind of unwieldy. I can shave with such a beast but doing so on a regular basis would take some getting used to.

The problem I run into with the old big omes is they aren't ther hollow... I like the feel of a hollow on my face. So if you are a wedge man I think the bog ones are great.. Saying that I do have a couple in thstables, thry are just way down the list.. I mostly like them because of thier age.

Fleabay wade and butcher 1 1/4"??!!!
The larges I have is just under an inch. Shaves well but I don't like to use it. Fond it difficult to shave with, hone and strop. I've read two sources that give the reason for these big blades. 1 you need them go tuff beards ??(I don't think so?) 2 they hold more used lather and in the days of no running water, this was very useful. 2 sounds good to me!
