    Default W&B rare models.

Just for fun. I am trying to build my own collection, and have an idea in my own head which is probably not accurate of the rarity of W&B models. In general I think W&B are not that rare currently I see 98 listed on the 'bay
recenlty I have been more excited as I got my first 8/8 last week and will have a pearl handle delivers this Wed.

All opinions welcome especially photos of your collections or rare specimens.

I can update this list as more opinions come in.

    1) 7 day sets with ivory scales.
    2) 2 day sets with Ivory scales and ivory tang covers.
    3) pearl handle scales
    4) chopers 1 1/8 or larger
    5) ivory scale
    6) tortious scale
    7) pressed bone
    8) frame back
    9) tortious shell.
    10) other?

I would bet that W&B made more razors than any other Sheffield maker with the possible exception of Wostenholme ..... Could be wrong though.

    Default W&B rare models.

@which lines up with why they are collectible, any one can have a chance to collect them, even the super rare ones people can get if you stalk eBay, which is half the fun.

IME, with most collectibles, if you've got the $$ you can acquire whatever it is if you're willing to spend them. Two things I keep in mind, knowing myself, are, you can't take it with you .... and if you're not satisfied with what you have, you'll never be satisfied with what you get. Have fun.

Some of the older ones are harder to find, like with a GR/WR stamp, or even earlier just marked "R. Wade". Also, a big 10/8 W&B with an anchor stamp just went on the bay a little while ago. That one was cool.

Look through the Butcher Shop (W&B razor club) and see what you don't see much of.

Personally, I've only ever seen one of these:

My dream razor, a W&B Adamantine Edge, is quite rare. I've scowered the internet and asked a many people and I still can't find one.
