    Default Dating an ERN

I have an ERN Hamburg Ring "Try Me" - the tang has 1915 stamped on it (along with the eagle and snake trademark) that I had initially assumed was a date of manufacture. Can anyone confirm if this is a manufacture date or does it refer to something else?

The numbers on the ERN razors aren't dates of manufacture.
Other ERN razors to give you an idea of the different numbers : http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...you-shave.html

I've never dated an Ern, but I flirted with an Emily for a while.

There. The joke's been made. Everyone get back to work now.

(and, sorry, I don't know anything abou ERNs.)

    Hi There,

Those numbers aren't dates of manufacture. The eagle and snake was used from 1874 by C. Friedrich ERN & Co. until it was superseded in 1896 with the more familiar crown and sword. I have restored a few of the eagle marked razors and they are
one of the best shavers I have come across!

    Thanks

Every Ern I have danced with has been a perfect lady with a little coercion. She will leave you with a wry smile and a smooth shave if you have prepared her right.

To the OP...it never happened if there's not a pic, you should know that by now.

The 1915 is more of a model # not a "born" date.
