Default Some proper pictures of the Faultless

Well everybody I have some quality pictures of what should be a quality shaver, these are courtesy of Glen/gssixgun (just in case you could not tell who took em). I had my father send the razor straight to Glen considering my current location. Glen said that it was in good shape and did not warrant a teardown, he was able to clean it all up still pinned. Honing should have been finished up yesterday, in a few weeks I should be able to put this classic steel to my face and enjoy it!

Any help with identifying the maker or dating this razor would be most appreciated.

Ed, All other references I have found to the "Faultless" name have been tied to FA Koch & co. and the razors look very much the same...

It very well could be a Koch razor imported by the Hardware Store...

Did they happen to have the same design on the tang, if you can recall?

    Default First Faultless Shave!!!

Well folks the Faultless arrived from Sandpoint, ID yesterday, and boy is it nice for being and old gal. It received a cleaning (with out disassembly) and a honing on Glen's Henckels hones 1-3-8 then finished on a Zulu. I wanted to shave with it yesterday at 1800 when I opened it but I waited until today. I had an O' dark thirty mission this morning so I woke up at 0200 and departed at 0300, I was back by 0530 right when I would normally wake up I was up for an hour or so and then the z-monster got ahold of me. I guess I needed the nap today it was my off day so once the mission was completed I was off. I woke back up at 1000 and milled around for a little while, checking in with the wife at home, and then it was time. I went to go shave with the Faultless!

    Prep: Hot shower
    Soap: ARKO Shave Stick
Brush: My only one Simpson B4 Beaufort Pure Badger
    Razor: The "Faultless"
Post: Cold water rinse, Witch Hazel, Skin Bracer AS, and Nivea sensitive post shave balm

The end result was a DFS 85% BBS (still working on the hollows of my neck), the razor shaved like butter it effortlessly cut through my whiskers. I had probably my best shave yet I don't know if it was me minding the point, Poppy's hand guiding mine, or Glen's awesome work, I think it was all of the above. The Faultless had a wonderfully smooth edge, now I know that my Dovo Natural is getting dull since I have something to compare it to now. I can now send the Dovo off to Lynn for its free honing after one month of service to a beginner I think that it is ready for it. I think I prefer the vintage razor to the modern one.

My dad has found me yet another awesome vintage razor this one is a Wade & Butcher, I am so stoked! So that is now two English blades and one German add my modern Dovo and it is two all.

He has also located the box for the "Faultless" razor, it is in bad shape the price whenever way back when was $2.50. I don't know if that price can help date the Faultless or not? I am so lucky and thankful to be one month into this and have four razors.

It looks like dad's cell phone picture taking skills are improving.

Okay RazorHeads just in case anybody is wondering how the JR&S and the W&B turned out, please check them out in the threads below.

They were both expertly custom restored by Glen/gssixgun.
