Well, it seems B & T is short for Bronson & Townsend Co. and they were hardware jobbers.

Dates of operation are sketchy. Most often sources quoted the dates 1923-1938 but these dates are wrong. I guess they also sold knives and these wrong dates show up in some knife value/guide books. I saw in my research a billhead with 1906 on it. The original President of the company Walter Bronson retired from the company in 1906 so it had to be in business for some years before that. But in my research, except for a couple past razors for sale, all I was able to discover was general business information. No good detailed information on their razor sales.

The Restored Razor website has one for sale now and says it is manufactured by the Boker Tree Brand. How the seller knows, I don't know.

Perhaps I'll be able to find out more.....

Well, the razor may have B&T on the tang, but it screams Boker!

    I rest my case.

Not being a Boker guy, what are the similarities..... other than the big ole "B" etched on the blade?

You were right. If you go to the Boker Brotherhood Razor Club and look at post #31 there is the exact same razor except for Boker on the tang. Same scales, covered tang, and blade etching.

    Walter Gould Bristol CT.
Information is sparse. The only information I could find was written on an old 1907 map of Bristol. It said, "Gould, Walter cutlery manufacturer, 23 Gaylord St." So I would assume he was in business in 1907.

Were the Pequot native to Conn?
Looks remarkably like a Graef that I have. Mine is a round point, but the tang and spine are nearly identical.

    MOP tang second from bottom.

Very similar, but the shoulders are different and yours has jimps top and bottom of the tang. Mine has no jimps.

This razor appears to be unused and only factory honed. So I am assuming, which is always dangerous, the scales are original.
Does anyone have a similar Challenge razor with steel scales?

For what it's worth, I shaved with this this AM. Blade gave a great smooth shave. BUT, I'm really not a fan of the scales. They are heavy steel and awkward. It about slipped in my hand and I was ever so close to getting cut. I like it, I like the look of the scales, but not for shaving.
