Electric razors are fine steel! So the blade on top, marked New York, was made At the (Walden) New York Knife factory between 1910 and 1920. The razor at bottom was made in Newark, New Jersey prior to 1910.

Thanked: 884Here's a couple of sho' 'nuff MURRICAN razors.
5/8 Challenge Cutlery, Bridgeport, Conn.
Been trying to get that punk honed and it is fighting me. Steel in that baby is some HARD stuff.
Here's a 5/8 Clauss, Fremont, O
Had a rusty fingerprint on that pretty blade when I got it. It's still there but it ain't rusty any more. It is a great shaver and the ONLY full hollow out of many I own that enjoy shaving with.

Thanked: 4249Clauss was founded as The Elyria Shear Works in a one-room shop in Elyria, Ohio in 1877. A decade later, the company was moved to Fremont, Ohio, where it became known as The Clauss Shear Works and remains in business today.
Also found that more then likely "Case" made razor for Clauss id there any cutlery that wasnt partners with Case?

How about Mayher and Grosh? Goins says:
"1875-present
This wholesale company was founded in Toledo, Ohio in 1875. In 1877, Maher & Grosh advertised in the American Agriculturist magazine and began their mail order business. Within a few years, they began sending out an illustrated price list of their goods. Maher & Grosh contracted with established firms to manufacture their knives. They moved to Clyde, Ohio about 1963, and they are still in business"
The top one is an oldie. Deeply engraved tang stamp and blade etch with horn scales. In contrast, the bottom one has electro-etched stamps and etch, very light. Celluloid scales and much later."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.
