Thread: Should I oil or vasiline my razor after every use?

Used Balistol for years, it works well on any ferrous items and it is very light. One drop on each side, distributed with fingers and a light wipe with a small square of cloth used routinely for that purpose. I live a few hundred yards from salt water, so it only takes a minor oversight to have rust sprouting from anything not treated

+1 on the paste wax. I will wax after honing and have no problems with rust on the blade, but I do use oil on the pivot pin.
